Samsung released Galaxy Z Fold($1380),Galaxy Buds Plus($149), S20($999), S20+($1199), S20 Ultra($1399).
For the Star attraction and new additions of the Galaxy S line-up,
Bigger Battery, Better Screen, More Cameras. What more do you want? For Now!!!
Let’s talk about the Galaxy S20 and S20+ first. The big brother can wait for now.
Galaxy S20 and S20+

Galaxy S20 and S20+ house a 6.2″ and 6.7″ 120 Hz QHD OLED Displays respectively, manufactured in the house by Samsung. And we all know that everybody wants Samsung Screens, especially the jaw dropping AmOLED Displays with super high resolution and punchy colors and crazy sharp images designed and manufactured by Samsung. This time, Samsung has increased the Touch Sensivity Sample Rate to 240Hz, which means that the clicks will feel more responsive, i.e., the touch delay will be very small. But, the Samsung software warns that the 120Hz will be limited to 1080p resolution option, and the 1440p resolution option comes with 60Hz only. This is probably done to save a lot of battery as pushing a 1440p display with 120Hz all the time takes a big bite of the battery.

Samsung has also gotten rid of the Infinity Edge Display, something which Samsung boasted of till now. Infinity Edge Display was a feature Samsung introduced where the screen bends around the edges to give a full front screen like experience. Because the Infinity Edge Display is gone, the screen has become flat. Completely. Which is unlike Samsung. But, they still kept the Ultra-Sonic Fingerprint Reader under the Glass , which is quite nice and works very fast and reliably.
S20 boasts a 4000mAh battery and S20+ has a 4500mAh battery which are humongous as compared to the S10 and S10+. Housing these big batteries has made the phone a bit thicker, and that’s a good thing in a lot of ways, especially when the phone boasts a 120Hz Super AmOLED Display.
The Specs sheet says, both S20 and S20+ support 12GB RAM(Samsung LPDDR5 technology), along with 12+64+12MP Triple Camera Setup on the back and a 10MP selfie camera and are also IP68 Dust and Water Resistant. S20 has 128GB internal storage and S20+ has 128/512GB internal storage with both being expandable up to 1.5TB with microSD cards.
Both come with the best chips Android world has to offer, Snapdragon 865 which are Sub 6 5G Capable, i.e., doesn’t support the millimeter wave 5G.
The Cameras are bigger sensors compared to last year’s overall. 12MP Main Sensor(f/1.8), 64MP 3X Sensor(f/2.0), 12MP Ultra Wide Sensor(f/2.2). These cameras support 8K 24fps(33MP still pic taking capability) on all three devices using the 64MP 3X Sensor. The front facing camera is a 10MP center hole-punch. Centre hole punch doesn’t block any useful information.
On the other honorable mention on Hardware side, dedicated Bixby button has vanished. Seems like a Blessing. GREATTT.
As for the software experience, OneUI 2.0 still sucks, but better than OneUI 1.0.
The phones ship with 25W Fast Charger included in box, and also support Wireless Qi Charging.
Now, Let’s Talk about the Biggg Brother. The Galaxy S20 Ultra(Clearly the name is inspired by HTC U Ultra).
Galaxy S20 Ultra.

6.9″ 120Hz QHD OLED Display. Touch Sensitivity Sample Rate to 240Hz.
The Specs sheet says, Galaxy S20 Ultra supports 12/16GB RAM(Samsung LPDDR5 technology)(my laptop doesn’t have that much RAM), along with 108+48+12MP Triple Camera Setup on the back and a 40MP selfie camera and are also IP68 Dust and Water Resistant. S20 ultra has 128/512GB internal storage with both being expandable up to 1.5TB with microSD cards. And like it’s smaller brothers, it comes with the best chips Android world has to offer, Snapdragon 865 which are 5G Capable, i.e., supports the millimeter wave 5G, i.e., super fast high end 5G speeds when in the line of sight of a 5G supported tower.
108MP Main Sensor(f/1.8), 12MP Ultra Wide(f/2.2), 48MP 10X Hybrid Optic Space Zoom Sensor(f/3.5)(Samsung calls it folded zoom lens). Also supports 8k 24fps video, but this time, using the Main Camera Sensor.
This one ships with 45W fast charger in box. And is IP68 Dust and Water Resistant.
Until it Launches in India, Fingers Crossed…..
